🤍 Summary 🤍

⚠️ Read your trigger warnings! This is a dark romance!

God of Malice follows Glyndon King, a talented art student. After a traumatic encounter with Killian Carson, a dangerously obsessive medical student, Glyndon finds herself caught in his twisted world of secrets, violence and control.
Killian is a charming, intelligent and respected young man on the outside, but underneath his perfect appearance lies a disturbing fascination with violence and death. His obsession with Glyndon becomes increasingly intense, despite her fear or him, she begins developing complicated feelings for him
As Glyndon investigates the mysterious death of her friend Devlin, she discovers that the secret societies surrounding their universities are connected to something much darker.

Killian's Traits and Behaviour 𓆝 𓆟 𓆞

Killian is one of the darkest characters in the series. He has disturbing impulses that have existed since childhood, and he struggles to understand or experience emotions in the same way other people do

♡ Violent Impulses: Killian experiences homicidal thoughts and a fascination with violence. He sometimes uses cruel or violent acts to relieve his urges.
♡ Emotionally Detached: He often appears calm and unaffected by situations that would upset or frighten other people because he doesn't feel those emotions like how everyone else does.
♡ Manipulative and Calculating: Killian is intelligent and knows how to hide his darker nature behind a charming, respectable personality
♡ Obsessive: His interest in Glyndon quickly becomes an intense fixation. He constantly wants to be near her and struggles to accept her independence
♡ Protective In His Own Way: Despite his dangerous behaviour, Killian becomes fiercely protective of Glyndon and reacts violently when someone threatens her.
♡ Conflicted: Glyndon affects him in ways he doesn't fully understand. His feelings for her challenge his emotional detachment.

Killian is suggested to have antisocial personality traits, but the book says he doesn't have a formal diagnosis since he learnt to wear a mask since he was a child to not get tested or worry his parents. His disturbing behaviour is part of what makes him such a dangerous and psychologically complex character.

Glyndon's Personal Struggles 𓆝 𓆟 𓆞

Glyndon is more than just Killian's love interest. She has her own emotional difficulties and personal battles throughout the story.

♡ Insecurity: Glyndon comes from a talented artistic family and often feels like she isn't good enough compared to her brothers and her mother.
♡ Dark Thoughts: She struggles with thoughts about death and experiences a deep emotional crisis following Devlin's apparent suicide.
♡ Grief: Devlin's death leaves her confused, devastated and desperate to understand what happened
♡ Feeling Misunderstood: Glyndon often feels isolated from her family and hides the darker, more emotional parts of herself through her artwork
♡ Conflicted Feelings: She experiences fear, attraction, hate and emotional attachment towards Killian, making it difficult for her to understand what she truly wants.

Her artwork becomes an important emotional outlet, allowing her to express feelings she cannot easily communicate to others. Yet she always undermines herself and her talents.

Killian and Glyndon's Relationship 𓆝 𓆟 𓆞

Killian becomes fascinated with Glyndon almost immediately ad his attraction quickly develops into an obsession. He wants to possess her and control her, while Glyndon struggles to understand why she feels drawn to someone who frightens her.

Their relationship is filled with intense attraction, manipulation, jealousy, power struggles and emotional conflict. Glyndon repeatedly questions whether Killian is capable of genuinely loving her, while Killian struggles with the emotions she brings out of him.

By the end, Glyndon begins to accept her feelings for Killian, while Killian becomes increasingly determined to keep her in his life. Their relationship remains dark and morally complicated rather than turning into a conventional love story.

🤍 My Rating and Review 🤍

Dates Read: 23/12/2024 - 21/01/2025
✦✦✦✦ - 4.5 Stars

Apparently I have a thing for psychopaths now and I've fully accepted it. Killian is a walking, murderous red flag, and like Glyn I'm only seeing green. He took possessive and territorial to a whole new level and it was so hot.

Killian and Glyndon have introduced me to dark romance, and I loved watching their characters develop and see how they bring out the best in each other in their own sick, twisted and depraved ways.

I really felt for Glyndon and everything she was going through, I enjoyed getting t understand her character more and being inside her head.

This book had me feeling so many different emotions, I loved there was a little mystery in there as well with Devlin's death. Definitely not for everyone but I personally really enjoyed it and cant wait to read more of this series. Please check your trigger warnings before reading this book!
